How Digital Thermometer Read Body Temperature?

Recently I have started using the Digital Thermometer and found very attractive and easy manageable, the body temperature can be read directly from the LCD panel without having paining the eyes. The digital thermometer is now increasing its popularity, by replacing the traditional Mercury thermometers.
Digital thermometer is battery powered and is having function like, memorizing the last reading for quick analysis, beep at the maximum temperature, read the temperature value in F or C, low battery indication etc. The device can be used to take oral and external body temperatures.

Do you know the sensor part used by Digital Thermometer?

Thermistor Resistors, the material is a semiconductor device which acts as an insulator at low temperatures and will not allow the flow of electricity. But its resistance decreases with the increase in temperature will allow them to conduct more electric charges. This property is used to measure the body temperature.
Fever detection thermistors that are designed in the digital thermometers undergo rapid change to electricity conduction at 98 F, which was connected to a mini circuit and LCD display to display the measurements. The circuit measure the electricity conduction rate of the thermistors and the value is displayed through the small reading LCD panel.
